Page Gaps Tool is a Chrome extension built by Align Marketing Group. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, stores, and how it is used.

What the extension does

Page Gaps Tool checks whether a professional-services website has certain essential page types (such as a Services page, Team page, Careers page, or Contact page), based on the firm’s industry. When you click the extension icon and select “Scan Site,” it reads the current page’s navigation links, other links, headings, and URL, and checks them against a built-in list of keywords for the selected (or auto-detected) industry.

Data we access

The extension reads the navigation links, other links, page headings, and URL of the webpage you are viewing, only when you click “Scan Site.” This is the only data the extension accesses. It does not read the full text content of the page beyond link text and headings.

Data we store

The extension saves your most recent scan result locally on your device using Chrome’s built-in storage (chrome.storage.local), so it can show you the same result if you reopen the popup without rescanning. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. Uninstalling the extension or clearing its storage removes it permanently.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, browsing history, location data, authentication credentials, financial information, health information, personal communications, or user activity such as clicks or keystrokes beyond the specific scan action described above. We do not use analytics or tracking of any kind. The extension does not require an account, login, or any personal information to use.

Where your data goes

Nowhere. All scanning and matching happens entirely inside your browser using a built-in keyword list — there is no backend server, no external API, and no AI service involved. Page Gaps Tool does not send any data to Align Marketing Group or any third party.

Third parties

We do not sell, share, or transfer any data to third parties. We do not use data for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or any purpose unrelated to the extension’s purpose of checking a website for essential pages.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a revised “Last updated” date.
